Yasmeen Melius’ practice is focused on the bond between photography and writing in which she explores the human condition, memory, trace, presence and absence. With the influence of philosophy, narrative and personal experiences her work aims to increase the dynamic between both artist and viewer through expression, while investigating the duality that develops through different interpretations. The fusion of delicate surfaces and raw, honest subjects allow the viewer to reflect on both themselves and the subject in hope of creating a space of evoking important conversations and sharing with one another. Her personal work Missing May have been exhibited internationally both in New York and Rome.
